Review written by David (San Francisco, USA) the 04/13/2010 for a stay in 3/2010
Whenever I travel to Europe from the States I like to find a base, rent an apartment and live locally. But you never know what you will find -- even hovels can be dressed up on ads on the internet and I have found some duds before. This house is every bit as attractive and comfortable as the website suggests. We were met in town and provided useful and friendly orientation, pleasantly surprised by a welcome bottle of wine and some local sweets. Gorgeous vistas from the terrace, quiet evenings, delicious food, friendly locals and central location make it a great base for exploring Baroque Sicily.
One caveat that may not be apparent: the house (and the town itself) is not easily accessible to handicapped, elderly or anyone having difficulty walking, due to many steps, hills, etc. I did not take that into account when bringing my 75-year old mother along, but she managed fine in the end.
