Review written by Julie (Philadelphia, USA) the 05/24/2013 for a stay in 5/2013
Alicia and her family are warm, open, progressive and gracious. The spacious and well-equipped cottage is behind their renovated house on a sweet piece of land that backs right up to the soaring face of one of the Cirque ridges. They have planted the land with a veritable botanical garden of mostly native species.
It is quiet here and off the beaten path, though an easy and gorgeous walk to Hell-bourg and many of the hikes nearby (be sure to ask for the shortcut walking path rather than the roads). The cottage has one huge bedroom (several beds), a sitting room, a compact kitchen and a well-appointed bathroom.
Bed is comfortable, the bathroom is awesome (shower only) and the wooden shutters and doors all swing open wide for light and air. Kitchen has a microwave, full-size fridge, hot water pot, hot plate, coffee-maker, all the basic tools, dishes, cookery and basics like coffee, condiments, bottled water and juice (for a small fee). Mind you, there is no sink in the kitchen but there is little need for one. Alicia takes care of dirty dishes and such. She also provides a fantastic breakfast on your own private patio adjacent to the cottage.
This is definitely a place for nature lovers, art enthusiasts and eco-minded souls.
