Review written by Julie (Philadelphia, USA) the 05/24/2013 for a stay in 5/2013
Alicia and her family are warm, open, progressive and gracious. The spacious and well-equipped cottage is behind their renovated house on a sweet piece of land that backs right up to the soaring face of one of the Cirque ridges. They have planted the land with a veritable botanical garden of mostly native species.

It is quiet here and off the beaten path, though an easy and gorgeous walk to Hell-bourg and many of the hikes nearby (be sure to ask for the shortcut walking path rather than the roads). The cottage has one huge bedroom (several beds), a sitting room, a compact kitchen and a well-appointed bathroom.

Bed is comfortable, the bathroom is awesome (shower only) and the wooden shutters and doors all swing open wide for light and air. Kitchen has a microwave, full-size fridge, hot water pot, hot plate, coffee-maker, all the basic tools, dishes, cookery and basics like coffee, condiments, bottled water and juice (for a small fee). Mind you, there is no sink in the kitchen but there is little need for one. Alicia takes care of dirty dishes and such. She also provides a fantastic breakfast on your own private patio adjacent to the cottage.

This is definitely a place for nature lovers, art enthusiasts and eco-minded souls.

Pilmuir is an great house with everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable holiday. The local villages and towns cater for all your needs and is in easy reach of the main A9 route North or South.
With lovely views over the Cairngorms what more could you ask for.

We had a wonderful fortnight in Mezin and the house was cosy and comfortable with everything we could have wished for.The town is charming and we enjoyed the live music at the local bar 3 nights a week.Mary(our hostess) is so kind and included us in her walking group which was wonderful-something we would never have been able to enjoy without Mary's kindness. We would love to return to this house soon.

As usual the tranquility and unspoilt beauty was captivating. The facilities great and 7 snapper in 2 hours off the rocks just topped it off....
Great Value, great fun, we are fast becoming regulars ha ha. Just about to look at the schedule for May!!

The apartment was just what we were looking for! It had everything we needed for a long weekend and Norma was not far away if there was anything that we needed to find out. She was extremely welcoming and her Welsh cakes were a welcome treat too! The views are fantastic and the reclining chair in the window was never empty! The apartment was immaculate and we could have stayed longer. We would highly recommend this apartment for your stay in Barmouth.

This is the second time we booked in this guest house and we have not been disappointed once again. We have been wonderfully welcomed and entertained. We laughted a lot during the dinners by discovering local food. This time we chose the new bungalow: just amazing. I loved above all the shower and the decoration of the room.
For sure we will come back and the sooner the better.

We loved our time at the Old Dairy. The rooms are beautiful and it was kitted out with everything you could possibly need. Lovely surroundings although a car would be useful. Kate and Keith were extremely helpful and we would love to visit again.
