The delightful town of Ellesmere, 3 miles away is a pretty market town with Tudor, Georgian and Victorian buildings, found nestling between the beautiful mere (lake) and the Shropshire/Llangollen Canal, in an area known as Shropshire’s Lake-land.
Recognised under the unesco World Heritage Site, be sure to explore Llangollen, a charming town in North Wales, peppered with attractions, where you can hike through tŷ Mawr Country Park, and cross over Pontcysyllte Aqueduct for elevated views, tour the Plas Newydd Historic House & Gardens, head into the centre of the town to people watch by the River Dee, or trek up to the magnificent remains of Castell Dinas Brân.
