This unique 150 year old farmhouse is in an ideal situation in a very peaceful but not isolated location right next to the national park. Surrounded by delightfully planted gardens, this previously working finca has been tastefully restored to exceptional standards, Inside and out the finca retains all its rustic charm including beamed ceilings terracotta tiled floors and character wood burning fireplace. The thick whitewashed wall interior is beautifully cool and tastefully furnished in Andalucian style. There is a sun terrace and sun canopy with a private pool. The front door leads to an air conditioned lounge, then separates onto the dining room with log burner, modern marble top kitchen, unique domed bathroom, upstairs bedroom, and rear bedroom .Doors lead out to another bedroom with en suite bathroom with glass sliding doors onto another terrace. Surrounded by spectacular country house to let shower/bathroom, is totally enclosed with external lighting and gates.
Finca Algarobbo: Situated on the border of the Sierra Almijara National Park, the villa is very easily reached from the main Torrox to Competa road 400 metres down the well maintained concrete drive. The house is set in 5000m2. There are 3 double bedrooms 1 en-suite, 1 shower/bathroom .Fully equipped kitchen has eclectic oven, hob, grill, microwave, washing machine & fridge-freezer.
surrounding Area: 3km from the villa lies the picturesque white village of cómpeta. Known as the 'pearl of the Axarquia' it is steeped in history dating back to the Moors. Famous for its wine & honey, cómpeta also has a wonderful variety of excellent tapas bars & restaurants emanating from the beautiful village square as well as supermarkets, bakery, banks & excellent craft shops. A wonderful base to explore the Axarquia region & surrounding white washed villages. 15 Minutes drive away is Torrox pueblo with more eateries in its orange tree lined square. Torrox Costa has a great expanse of beaches and restaurants. A further 5 minutes drive will take you to the popular, lively resort of Nerja where the mountains meet the sea. A visit to the famous Nerja caves & Balcon de Europa is a must during your stay. Just under 2 hours away is Granada with its magnificent Alhambra Palace and only 2 and a half hours drive to the Sierra Nevada’s. If you want to experience the 'real Spain,' this is the place to be.
low season holidays: We offer all year round rental at Finca Algarobbo. Cómpeta & the surrounding area is a walker’s paradise from October to May. The Almijara & Tejeda National park is an area of outstanding natural beauty and it's right on the doorstep, springtime is an excellent time to be here. Have a relaxing swim in the pool, then enjoy an evening in one of cómpeta's magnificent choice of restaurants. The mild winter is a great time to visit Granada or Cordoba, a much more comfortable temperature for sightseeing. Discounts for 2 week bookings.
